It's Spring at Lit'l Dutch LaManchas!

Welcome to Lit'l Dutch LaManchas! We are located in beautiful Northeast Pennsylvania. We established the Lit'l Dutch herd in 1998, after having taken a break for 13 years in order to start a career and a family. Due to our particular location we must maintain a manageable herd size, thus quality over quantity is our number one priority. And because we have such a small herd, we have the ability to give each of our does the attention they deserve, for they are not a number, but an individual with a name and a special place in our hearts. Our herd is tested yearly for TB, Brucellosis, and CAE. All our animals are CAE negative. In just a very short time we have demonstrated to the dairy goat community our ability to produce top quality LaManchas. We are extremely proud of our girls' accomplishments. At the 2001 ADGA National Show we were awarded a 1st place Junior LaMancha herd, along with having the Reserve National Junior LaMancha doe. At the 2004 ADGA National Show, our GCH Lit'l Dutch Tootsie 2*M placed 6th as a 4-year-old milker, and Lit'l Dutch MP Savannah was 3rd place Senior Yearling. We participate at official one-day milk testing when offered by area shows. We are extremely particular in our breeding selections, and only offer a very small number of animals for sale each year. As you browse through our site, you will see our herd's performance in show and production as well as linear appraisal.

Our 2008 year has been quite exciting. Though we only attended three shows this year, we finished Violet, and gained 2 legs on Vogue. We also obtained some dry legs, and Boo going BJDIS at the NJ State Fair. We were also very pleased with our linear appraisal scores this year, having 5 of our 7 milkers score an Excellent in mammary. Snowy (pictured at left) scored EEEE 92 at 7 years old! We feel this is an outstanding accomplishment for having such a small backyard herd and personally breeding these animals.

  

Our 2009 year here at Lit'l Dutch LaManchas has been less than eventful. Our family has been plagued with unexpected family health difficulties, and hospitalizations. With the exception of one show in which Shanna took it upon herself to shave 3 junior does for a nearby show, none of the other animals were shown. We are extremely disappointed that we could not show this year. Though we do not have many animals, we acknowledge the fact that we have to sell more animals (reluctantly) this Fall, and will announce the animals available on our For Sale Page.

Terms of Sale: At this time we are only accepting reservations for 2009 doe kids from the following does: Buttercup, Peek-A-Boo, Jetta. Only second doe kids from the following does: Wiggles, Ringlet, & Willow, Vogue, and Violet will be available for reservation. Only buck kids from Snowcap, Violet, Vogue will be available. We occasionally have milkers available in the Spring. No buck kids will be available from first-time fresheners unless we feel the dam has met our quality standards. We are no longer accepting deposits on animals. If you are interested in a particular animal, please notify us, and you will be placed on a list. You will be notified immediately of the availability of the desired animal. The amount is due within 7 days of notification. If the amount is not received within 7 days, the animal will be offered to the next person. We prefer that buyers pick up their animals here; that way you can see our animals personally. Otherwise all kids will be shipped between 6-8 weeks of age. Any and all transportation costs, crate, health certificates are the responsibility of the buyer. Transportation dates/times will be arranged that is best for our schedule. There are no guarantees that any animals purchased will become or produce champions. Management plays a major role in an animal's outcome. Once the animals leave this property the buyer/owner assumes all responsibility.

Each year we offer a limited number of milking does for sale each Spring in order to make room for the new generation, and to keep our work load at a manageable level. Please check with us frequently to see if we have any available.
